<br />
A couple of weeks ago I found out I was being made redundant at work due to financial difficulties. After a lot of emotion (I loved my job), panicking over finding a new job and some serious soul searching, I'm taking a huge leap and starting up my own business. Unfortunately, between finalizing things for my old job, and going through the process of opening my business and getting it up and running, I haven't had much time for blogging (or anything for that matter). The foreseeable future is looking just as busy, but I absolutely love blogging and beauty, and I'm looking forward to when things settle down to the point where I can go back to semi-regular posting.Ellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00217722114254110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8595025137145881489.post-14287136882765269972012-08-05T19:16:00.000+10:002012-08-05T19:16:35.787+10:00Lust Have It July<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Time for my (very) belated Lust Have It July post. This came probably 2 weeks ago, so I'm incredibly behind the 8 ball at the moment. I thought I would share it anyway, because I was pretty happy with it this month.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga2COjxxPaowni3XhISbmRl_TVG8xTgRtxXflG659qxAzRtWSLHNcsORhA4zS8duyK3bprrL4MzPOv2HndDX5jG_ZXxa3dlCbs-n3eMnjx1klbfGQ7UqsmjjqPPQbId0E5AT5QuVfzpFw/s1600/Lust+Have+It+July.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="478" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga2COjxxPaowni3XhISbmRl_TVG8xTgRtxXflG659qxAzRtWSLHNcsORhA4zS8duyK3bprrL4MzPOv2HndDX5jG_ZXxa3dlCbs-n3eMnjx1klbfGQ7UqsmjjqPPQbId0E5AT5QuVfzpFw/s640/Lust+Have+It+July.JPG" title="The Glow Down | Lust Have It July" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">In total I received 6 samples this month in a bright orange makeup bag.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">First is the <b>Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Lotion</b>. At first glance this one looked like one of those cheap lotion samples they have in hotels, but according to the Lust Have It card, it retails at $29.95 for 350ml, which is fairly pricey for a body lotion. I'll be giving it a go, but I'm not a big fan of the orange scent.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Next are the <b>Avene Gentle Purifying Scrub </b>and <b>Gentle Eye Makeup Remover</b>. I have really liked most of the Avene products I've tried in the past, so I was excited to see these. I haven't tried the scrub yet, but I gave the eye makeup remover a whirl and have to admit I was less than impressed. It didn't seem to budge any of my eye makeup at all. I may have to give it a few more chances.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Then there is the <b>Bed Head Tigi Shine Junkie Lip Gloss </b>in beige. Before this arrived I didn't know that Bed Head did makeup. I've tried the lipgloss out and it is so not the colour for me. It makes my lips look invisible, except for the metallic shine of the lipgloss. It almost looks like a pale liquid gold, which would be very hard for most skin tones to pull off. The lipgloss itself is very opaque, but quite thick and tacky.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Lastly I received the<b> Matrix Biolage Smoothing Shampoo</b> and <b>Conditioner</b>. I used to use Biolage products on my hair yonks ago, and have since sort of moved on for whatever reason. I'll be interested in seeing how these go.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Although there wasn't anything overly exciting in this months box, I'm still pretty happy with it. With the exception of the lipgloss, they are all items that have a chance of making into my regular beauty routine if I like them, which is nice. Compared to the <a href="http://the-glow-down.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/bellabox-july.html" target="_blank">Bellabox</a> I also received in July, this one has a heap less samples, but the samples included are much more high end with a higher price point than those in Bellabox. For that reason it's difficult to say which I'd rank higher this month.</span></div>Ellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00217722114254110217noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8595025137145881489.post-32497508813352285392012-07-28T20:29:00.004+10:002012-07-29T09:16:47.891+10:00Bellabox July<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">For those who haven't heard of <span style="background-color: white;">Bellabox, it is another monthly beauty subscription service available here in Australia. For $15 a month, Bellabox promises 5 luxury beauty samples delivered to your door. I've been rather enjoying my Lust Have It subscription, and had heard some really positive things about Bellabox, so earlier this month I decided to jump in and subscribe to them as well (greedy? Who me?).</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjOB8HEubYdZwwG1E8SvJHyRlxba8SsXe5_912-w8YY9NDXETixC4nsk7xKjoDIHQcDVcWWiXXVNt_MhR2-PZAM2oj6QohYW6J9CRCid4wsgeawlVnT0OQs9M8_zXoXy3SmnNi6vScJnw/s1600/Bellabox+-+2012+July.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="580" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjOB8HEubYdZwwG1E8SvJHyRlxba8SsXe5_912-w8YY9NDXETixC4nsk7xKjoDIHQcDVcWWiXXVNt_MhR2-PZAM2oj6QohYW6J9CRCid4wsgeawlVnT0OQs9M8_zXoXy3SmnNi6vScJnw/s640/Bellabox+-+2012+July.JPG" title="The Glow Down | BellaBox July 2012" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Since then I've been waiting, not so patiently, for the box to arrive. And when it did, I certainly wasn't disappointed. Inside the pretty aqua shipping box were 9 samples. A whole 5 of these were full size. For a beauty box to include that many samples in a month is very impressive. The samples were also a good mix, and I am excited to try pretty much all of them.</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIxSaISJ2ZNWCmrNyv4yx8EfIHtlCMoMrPws8d1BLEmpgdXCKmOHQyZ3jTJiaSwzFZ57iEne01FUwLznNwvDIa3yMPQQ5L-o4Wz81e0tTJWbcuv-fmnPZVetnlm15UMPDRLsw4yx5nW-g/s1600/Bellabox+-+2012+July+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="508" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIxSaISJ2ZNWCmrNyv4yx8EfIHtlCMoMrPws8d1BLEmpgdXCKmOHQyZ3jTJiaSwzFZ57iEne01FUwLznNwvDIa3yMPQQ5L-o4Wz81e0tTJWbcuv-fmnPZVetnlm15UMPDRLsw4yx5nW-g/s640/Bellabox+-+2012+July+2.JPG" title="The Glow Down | BellaBox July 2012" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">First up is the <b>Le Tan Flawless Legs Wash Off Leg Makeup</b>. The sample I received is in deep bronze, which I'm thinking will probably be too dark for me. I will try it out anyway, and even if it is too dark it will give me a chance to see if I like it enough to go out and buy a lighter version for spring. </span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I'm naturally very pale, and while I tan fairly easily with some time in the sun, I also burn very easily and much prefer to go faux, so I'm always looking for new and better ways to look sunkissed.</span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The <b>You, Me & Everybody Shady Lady Daily Face Milk</b> (full size) was something I've never heard of before. It contains a broad spectrum sun protection with an SPF 30+, which I very much like the sound of. It's quite thin in formula, and I'm not sure how hydrating it is, but might be another good one to set aside for spring and summer.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I also got an <b>Innoxia Nail Polish in Plush Velvet </b>(full size). I've never tried Innoxia polishes before, but I love a good nail polish, especially if it's purple.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Next was the <b>Neutrogena Anti-Wrinkle Deep Eye Cream</b> (full size). Eye cream is a part of my skin routine that I have neglected in recent years, mostly using the excuse that I'm only 23. The appearance of this product this month reminded me that I should probably start some preventative measures, and I will definitely be trying this one out.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">A neat little 15ml sample of the <b>Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub</b> was also a welcome inclusion for me, as I'm about out of my previous face scrub, and really want to find a new and less course scrub to use. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkqDwCVPuIaVDO9tUYlZob-UwsweXci-EWJzs_xBX61xggWEs_jUOxuRORC8zxcknNSssyZzrE2hOxWN1tfL_a6jJOECJ_20PuJ3S8VUSfVAsOcPVkkMz3Nlmm7nKhZBzE034eFv5wjlA/s1600/Bellabox+-+2012+July+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="516" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkqDwCVPuIaVDO9tUYlZob-UwsweXci-EWJzs_xBX61xggWEs_jUOxuRORC8zxcknNSssyZzrE2hOxWN1tfL_a6jJOECJ_20PuJ3S8VUSfVAsOcPVkkMz3Nlmm7nKhZBzE034eFv5wjlA/s640/Bellabox+-+2012+July+3.JPG" title="The Glow Down | BellaBox July 2012" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Then we have a little sachet sample of the <b>Givenchy Pi Neo </b>mens fragrance. I'm not a fan of perfume samples in sachet's at all, but I do enjoy smelling them. The scent of this one was so manly it made me melt. I'm keeping it in the back of my mind for when I need present ideas for the fiance. I think he would love it for the woodsy smell, but mostly because it's named after a mathematical concept (he's a maths nerd) and was inspired by the Matrix movies.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The <b>Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm </b>(full size) was another great addition for me this week. I've had a bad head cold which always means dry and chapped lips, so I've been using chapsticks non-stop.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Next is the <b>Almay Get Up & Grow Mascara</b> (full size). It claims to nourish lashes to help them grow strong and long. I'm more excited about the fact that it has one of my loved wire and bristle mascara brushes, so I'll give this one a whirl, regardless of if it does or doesn't improve my lashes.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Last, but not lease are the <b>Terax Crema Conditioner</b> and <b>Miele Shampoo </b>samples. I have heard of Terax before, but never tried any of their products. I'm always happy to try new shampoo and conditioner samples, as I really I like to flit between brands anyway.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Overall, I'm really really happy with my first Bellabox. I seem to have signed up in the right month, to receive so many samples. The brands and products aren't at all high end, but Bellabox definitely made up for that in quantity. I'm also excited because</span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> every sample I received (excepts obviously the fragrance) I will get some use out of and am keen to try.</span></div>Ellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00217722114254110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8595025137145881489.post-9976567108102324192012-07-20T20:02:00.000+10:002012-07-20T20:02:48.790+10:00My Favourite Frizz Fighter: John Frieda Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Hair Serum Review<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I don't usually do many hair product reviews, because, to be completely honest, my hair routine is fairly simple and rarely changes. Today, however, I wanted to share with you all one of my all time favourite hair care products, the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Serum.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8vQuY6vZSHwPONOIsi4LFbnnKEXmYnjL0PNNAhUlRLhm3XPRnBzA3OJmdp8yRIaFDlAV1Bo1bN0Nj3I1tq6AK4j32_xAT5OH7sLUcAmmaaDu9V8qM0w6qOpJmwqvVTY2wmU0n82m4d6M/s1600/John+Frieda+-+Frizz-Ease+Hair+Serum.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="494" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8vQuY6vZSHwPONOIsi4LFbnnKEXmYnjL0PNNAhUlRLhm3XPRnBzA3OJmdp8yRIaFDlAV1Bo1bN0Nj3I1tq6AK4j32_xAT5OH7sLUcAmmaaDu9V8qM0w6qOpJmwqvVTY2wmU0n82m4d6M/s640/John+Frieda+-+Frizz-Ease+Hair+Serum.JPG" title="The Glow Down | John Frieda Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Hair Serum Review" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">When I first started buying this serum, I had intended to use for it's heat protecting properties. What has made me stay almost unfaltering in my love for it since then, however, is how well it helps to tame frizz. I have very thick hair, that sits somewhere between straight and wavy. For as long as I can remember, I have had problems with frizz, especially after blow drying. Over the years I have spent a fortune on products to try to avoid the fuzz, but most did little, or only weighed <span style="background-color: white;">my hair</span><span style="background-color: white;"> </span><span style="background-color: white;">down, making it look and feel oily. The John Freida</span><span style="background-color: white;"> </span><span style="background-color: white;">Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Serum is the only serum I have come across that truly works, while still being light weight and non-greasy.</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">This lightly oily textured serum is a great little multi-tasker. It can be used to protect against heat, prevent and smooth frizz, and add shine. It works just as well used on wet or dry hair, and before or after styling. I have tried it each and every which way, and it works well regardless. I find it works best for my needs as a finishing product, once my hair is styled and dried. I simply rub a 5c piece size squirt between my hands well, and work it from the ends up.</span></span><br />
<div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">After using it, my hair feels like silk and has a whole heap more shine to it. Most importantly, though, my hair is instantly more sleek, without losing any movement or volume.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I will say, that although this product adds shine and makes hair feel healthier and more moisturised, it does not do a lot to add or retain moisture in the the hair. If you suffer from frizz too, you may have a similar issue to myself in that the mid-lengths and ends of the hair can be very dry. To prevent and lessen future frizz, I would recommend using a light leave-in conditioner, or moisturising hair oil (I use argan oil) on towel dried hair, especially if you are going to be heat styling. It also should go without saying that if you use this after styling, you will need to use another heat protecting product before you use any kind of heat.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><span style="font-size: large;">Overall Score: </span><span style="font-size: x-large;">8</span><span style="font-size: large;">/10</span></b></span></span></div>Ellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00217722114254110217noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8595025137145881489.post-45459456107194086752012-07-17T04:00:00.000+10:002012-07-17T04:00:03.185+10:00Australis Ready 2 Mingle Review and Swatches<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white;">On the far left, the lipgloss in </span><span style="background-color: white;">Lambada</span><span style="background-color: white;"> is a gorgeous pale warm pink lipgloss. It is slightly more pigmented than it is showing up in the swatch. It has good lasting power for a gloss, but this is most likely because it is very sticky and thick. I am very impressed with the colour, as it's hard to find a pale pink that has a warm enough tone not to wash me out.</span></div>
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Next is the lipgloss in Burlesque, a muted raspberry shade. This one looks mega shimmery in the bottle, but it doesn't translate on application. It is a lot less sticky than Lambada, while still maintaining a good 3+ hours of wear time. Out of the two lipglosses, I lean more toward this one, because the colour is so pretty and the texture is much, much nicer.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">In the middle we have the Conceal Correct in Tan. This is a very yellow toned concealer which is way to dark for me. On the back of the box, it does say that it comes with the concealer in Light, but all of the ones I could find had the same shade of concealer. I'm not too sad about it not matching my skin tone, because it really hasn't impressed me much. In the swatches above, you can see that even on the relatively smooth skin of my forearm it seems to settle into even minute lines and make them much more visible.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Second from the right is the powder eyeshadow from the Double Decker Eye Duo in Cosmic Rays. It is an intensely shimmery beige shadow, that looks much more pink than in the swatch above. I'm a big fan of this shadow, as it looks gorgeous on. My only complaint is the packaging. It comes in the same tube as the rest of the minis with the same doe foot applicator, which makes for very messy application and a lot of waste. Pulling the applicator out of the tube never fails to result in a cloud of shimmer dust and you really can't get away with using it to apply the shadow.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Last we have the other component from the Cosmic Rays Double Decker Eye Duo, a dark brown cream eyeshadow with a semi-satin finish. I was very hesitant about this one when I first swatched it, because the colour is intense. I've since played around with it, and found that it has a fairly nice texture that is easy to blend and sheer out. It dries slowly, giving you plenty of time to work with it, and once it is dry it stays in place well. I would still recommend using it over a good eyeshadow primer if you are someone who suffers from oilier eye lids, like myself. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">At around $14.95, this set is pretty reasonable and overall good quality. Australis have included some really great colours, with the exception of the concealer, and I have been getting some good use out of it.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Today's review is on the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Antwerp and Milan. They are applied like a lipgloss, pigmented like a lipstick and dry completely matte. They are difficult to define, to say the least, but are great for us matte look lovers.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Antwerp is a bright coral pink. Milan is a bright mauve toned pink.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Both are very creamy in texture and glide onto the lips. After application they dry to a velvet looking matte finish. Once dry, they retain no moisture, similar to a lip stain. This can take up to ten minutes, but once dry they are tough to move and will not transfer. They are incredibly long lasting, with around 4 hours wear time before needing touching up.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">One thing to note before wearing them is they will accentuate any dryness, so exfoliating and moisturising the lips with balm before applying is advisable. Dry spots on the lips also tends to cause flaking and cracking after a couple of hours.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Another month, another wishlist. I am sad to report that I didn't end up buying anything from my <a href="http://the-glow-down.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/june-lust-list.html" target="_blank">June Lust List</a> post. Very good for the budget but a little bit sad for me. Oh well. This month's post may well suffer the same fate, but this month I'm lusting over some much more budget friendly bits and bobs.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="clear: left; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="http://www.polyvore.com/july_lust_list_2012/set?.embedder=3657188&.svc=blogger&id=52661990" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="July Lust List 2012" border="0" force="1" height="460" src="http://cfc.polyvoreimg.com/cgi/img-set/.sig/5CQtSP4km0w6h0q2wIEyxA/cid/52661990/id/OUscIEvxTi_QP1rXXLookw/size/c600x460.jpg" title="July Lust List 2012" width="600" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Clockwise from left they are:</span></div>
<br />
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Real Techniques Starter Kit - I bought the Core Collection a couple of months ago and love them more than it is appropriate to love a set of brushes. I really want to get the Starter Kit because I've been hearing great things about them to, and am pretty sure I would love them too.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Revlon Lip Butters in Candy Apple and Creamsicle - I basically want the whole line, but these two look so gorgeous.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">NARS Larger Than Life eye liners in Via Veneto and Rue Bonaparte - I'm in the market for pencil liners that will stay well on my water line, and these have pretty great reviews.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Bourjois Bronzing Powder - aside from the fact that it won me over because it was shaped like chocolate, I am sick of looking like a ghost and think this could be my remedy.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Maybelline Color Tattoos in Tenacious Teal and Bad To The Bronze - I already own Tough As Taupe and Bold Gold and love them (you can see my review and swatches <a href="http://the-glow-down.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/maybelline-color-tattoo-review-tough-as.html" target="_blank">here</a>) so am keen to acquire some more. As well as these two shades, I will be keeping my eye out for Pomegranate Punk also.</span></li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Be sure to let me know what's on your wishlist this month!</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Maybelline Color Tattoos are cream eyeshadows, similar in concept to the MAC Paint Pots. The collection includes a range of bright and eye catching colours to be used as an eyeshadow base, or for stand alone wear. They have been generating quite a bit of hype since their release in the US and UK earlier this year. Originally they weren't rumoured to make their Aussie debut until the end of this year, but thankfully Maybelline released them here at the beginning of the month.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The Target I got them from stocked five shades. I picked up Tough As Taupe and Bold Gold. The other shades available were Tenacious Teal (a bright shimmery blue), Painted Purple (a bright purple with subtle shimmer) and Audacious Asphalt (a shimmery black). I'm not sure how many of the 10 shades are available here, but I know that there are more than the five I tracked down.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Tough As Taupe is a highly pigmented grey taupe colour. When applied it is much darker and grey than it appears in the pot, but can be sheered out in to a beautiful and wearable taupe.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Bold Gold is much, much brighter than it appears here, with a very true yellow gold appearance. It is very shimmery, both in the pot and when applied, and catches the light beautifully. This one is definitely not for the faint of heart or those looking for a subtle gold shimmer.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Their formula is quite thick and somewhat on the dry side. That said, they can be sheered out and blended fairly easily, as long as you work quickly. On the lid, once they are dry, they are impossible to budge, even with vigorous rubbing. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The biggest drawing point of the Color Tattoos is the wear time. I have very oily lids and watery eyes that can crease any eyeshadow within a couple of hours. These, however, I can wear for more than 8-9 hours without primer and have absolutely no creasing or fading. No other eye product I have tried has lasted as well as these do on me.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The one draw back to the Color Tattoos is the lack of everyday wearable colours. For me, Tough As Taupe is the only colour I can realistically wear to work. I understand that their aim in developing the current line was to create daring and bold colours (and boy did they do it well), but I hope that once seeing how popular they have been, they might consider releasing some more shades.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I haven't been able to find a full list of stockists, but I know that they are available at Target and Priceline for around $11.95. I was shocked to see how reasonable the pricing on these was compared to the US and UK, where they sell for the equivalent of about $7 (don't get me started on the triple priced Revlon Lip Butters). Next I'm hoping to hunt down Pomegranate Punk and Bad To The Bronze.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Most Wednesdays I'm busy at work, but I was a very lucky girl today and had the day off. It's been a very relaxing day and the weather has been absolutely stellar, so I'm in a really good mood. Wednesday means that it's time again for the lovely Nykki from <a href="http://www.mymaneblog.com/" target="_blank">Nykki's Mane Blog</a>'s Question Wednesday. I've been participating in Question Wednesday on and off for a while now, and I have to say that I really enjoy it. The questions are fun to answer, but I what I'm really loving is finding great blogs and getting to know the other girls who join in regularly a little bit better each week. They are really lovely girls, who I find so entertaining and witty, not to mention knowledgeable. If you are interested in joining in this week, just click <a href="http://www.mymaneblog.com/2012/07/question-wednesday-blog-hop-hair.html" target="_blank">here</a>.</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCYh35IiOKhyWbxNDzJfZOL8vCxRbfyKgEYtsNRX0aO4P-w5VgfX5oFRm6OrOs1xMkH5CPNbKojnh4L2IOy5WSrGu6RJ5_13kc4g4uoXa6dOa4BRmTP3dF-NSa4aeS2XS1XxO42CGftCs/s1600/4416107037_f24e10e65c_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="381" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCYh35IiOKhyWbxNDzJfZOL8vCxRbfyKgEYtsNRX0aO4P-w5VgfX5oFRm6OrOs1xMkH5CPNbKojnh4L2IOy5WSrGu6RJ5_13kc4g4uoXa6dOa4BRmTP3dF-NSa4aeS2XS1XxO42CGftCs/s400/4416107037_f24e10e65c_z.jpg" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">This week is all about hair. I have to admit, when it comes to beauty products, hair care is the area that I know least about. I've never been as experimental with my hair as I have with my skincare and makeup, and I have been blessed it satisfactorily manageable locks. Anywho, here goes:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">- What is your natural hair color? Are you happy with it?</span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">It is dark brown, and I do quite like it. In Winter I'm very happy with it. In Summer I always want to go lighter and usually regret any attempts to. I think it suits me well. </span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">- Do you dye your hair? If yes then do you do it yourself or go to a salon?</span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I occasionally dye my hair and usually do it myself, as it's usually an easy all over dye that is at most a couple of shades different from my natural hair. I used to go to the salon when I was a teenager and had highlights and things, but they never really suited me. Maybe that's turned me off getting colour at salons now.</span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">- What is your must have hair care product? </span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Moroccan Oil. I know it's been over-raved about, but swear by this stuff. I get a lot of fly-aways and this stuff helps to decrease them if I put it through my hair when it's damp. It also improved the texture of my hair, making it smoother and shinier.</span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">- What is the worst hair care product that you have ever used?</span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I'm not sure what brand it was, but my Dad's ex girlfriend used to buy this industrial sized can of hairspray that she used everyday. When I was a teenager she did my hair a few times and used it, and it turned my hair into a helmet. It was horrible. My hair would look matted and dull for days after, and even after washing and conditioning it was hard to put a brush through. I still don't fully trust hair sprays.</span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">- Do you have any good tips or homemade recipes for long and pretty hair?</span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">My best tip for clarifying hair, is to use apple cider vinegar. It works wonders at getting rid of all the product build up, is very gentle on the hair, and I believe it actually adds moisture to the hair (rather than stripping, as I find a lot of clarifying shampoos do). Either pour or spray it all over the hair, after shampooing, and leave for a little bit, and your hair will will be the smoother and shinier than you would believe.</span></div>Ellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00217722114254110217noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8595025137145881489.post-43997677387190097972012-07-01T21:49:00.002+10:002012-07-01T21:49:49.785+10:00Ulta3 Mini Haul and Swatches<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Today was a good day for me shopping wise. Not only did I pick up some lovely products that I am excited to try out and review for, I also managed to stumble upon these Ulta3 polishes in Coles for 50 cents. Ulta3 are my favourite cheap nail polish brand by far, so I went rummaging through the bin like a mad person. They are incredibly well priced usually, at around the $2 mark, but I was so excited to see them for even cheaper.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7IwpJxZR_cyoCZB_2XO8SQnxZTezd3ocX9EZFQpMkqWT2IxsvYMO2FZKQNHHaiEOlV7kzHlv6CufQYRIQC9tuNumoM7l7a3g9Y3kbBLAzzQGKjMdghRZHnh0xDNKMdtU8uSOqCfHbii8/s1600/Ulta3+Reds+July+2012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="448" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7IwpJxZR_cyoCZB_2XO8SQnxZTezd3ocX9EZFQpMkqWT2IxsvYMO2FZKQNHHaiEOlV7kzHlv6CufQYRIQC9tuNumoM7l7a3g9Y3kbBLAzzQGKjMdghRZHnh0xDNKMdtU8uSOqCfHbii8/s640/Ulta3+Reds+July+2012.JPG" title="The Glow Down | Ulta3 Nail Polishes" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">As you can see from the picture, all of the colours I got are in the red/pink/purple family, because they were really the only colours they had left. That was fine by me, as I have very few reds in my collection.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV08KWKMPN6lJr5yaKYPZ7xD-uGye-ohB8CDbJxKl5tYrJ_zFFKnsHw7ig4jep7J7Q3d2-4fWPUOYryiBkNiE-AB3V4Ib8vXX9tDkvlzShlOdHr8nt8fVa1eWiE3XAwK_JEyurAqK2LZA/s1600/Ulta3+Reds+July+2012+Swatches.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV08KWKMPN6lJr5yaKYPZ7xD-uGye-ohB8CDbJxKl5tYrJ_zFFKnsHw7ig4jep7J7Q3d2-4fWPUOYryiBkNiE-AB3V4Ib8vXX9tDkvlzShlOdHr8nt8fVa1eWiE3XAwK_JEyurAqK2LZA/s640/Ulta3+Reds+July+2012+Swatches.JPG" title="The Glow Down | Ulta3 Nail Polishes" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">In person, these colours probably look closer to how they look in the top photo of the bottles than the one I have swatched for you above. The top three are definitely much darker than this picture shows. <span style="background-color: white;">All of these were opaque and streak free with only 2 coats. </span></span></div>
<br />
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Pepper Pot - In the bottle looks like a very dark brown burgundy colour. On the nail the burgundy doesn't translate, and it looks mostly like a dark red.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Flashback Fuchsia - A deep very red toned purple</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Sunset Pink - Not remotely pink. A red toned purple, similar to Flashback Fuchsia but a couple of shades lighter. This reminds me a bit of OPI's Miami Beet, except it dries to a demi-matte finish without a top coat.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Pink Colada - This is a pretty, almost raspberry shade of dark pink and my favourite so far.</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Tangelo - A fluorescent pinky orange. This looks very close to the Ulta3 polish I showed in a post a while back called Carrot Top (you can check it and my other Ulta3 polishes out <a href="http://the-glow-down.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/bargain-buy-ulta3-nail-polishes.html" target="_blank">here</a>).</span></li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">If anyone knows of any other good cheap nail polish brands, please please please let me know!</span></div>Ellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00217722114254110217noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8595025137145881489.post-45280348088134578172012-06-30T15:40:00.000+10:002012-06-30T15:40:15.506+10:00Lust Have It June 2012<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I'm very, very late with this one, but I'm finally getting around to sharing this months Lust Have It! box. It came in the mail around one and half weeks ago, which means I truly have been incredibly slack. Take a look at what was inside!</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNPQ7HHZ2YC4v5hfYpxtNAl1kCzKzbQ7loWi0sV4bhZmrF9rVxKg6RPtDF-ICAC8R8cQIhRmR3igXfcO26LJl8D5jMS12VsmaASJYSCBPTihPIUwKZLJ113U4_a77Ahe4-PQRh0ToCGYs/s1600/Lust+Have+It+-+June+-+All.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="470" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNPQ7HHZ2YC4v5hfYpxtNAl1kCzKzbQ7loWi0sV4bhZmrF9rVxKg6RPtDF-ICAC8R8cQIhRmR3igXfcO26LJl8D5jMS12VsmaASJYSCBPTihPIUwKZLJ113U4_a77Ahe4-PQRh0ToCGYs/s640/Lust+Have+It+-+June+-+All.JPG" title="Lust Have It June" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Not a bad box again this month. I did really like the colour of the makeup bag it all came in too (you can see it much better in the pictures below).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn20WNp1wcPHh7nnEFy-Rv_j42bpj3S1KxAHLi-Jqav2TMnQ9IZItpKLZ-lNKfCZR6oi6B3ouIO76etFPBRhyphenhyphen85pELVb2LiSdBin83arNnNgWP891SLVD5o1HCpHYM4U__3LL8x_sXipk/s1600/Lust+Have+It+-+June+-+Batiste+Dry+Shampoo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="484" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn20WNp1wcPHh7nnEFy-Rv_j42bpj3S1KxAHLi-Jqav2TMnQ9IZItpKLZ-lNKfCZR6oi6B3ouIO76etFPBRhyphenhyphen85pELVb2LiSdBin83arNnNgWP891SLVD5o1HCpHYM4U__3LL8x_sXipk/s640/Lust+Have+It+-+June+-+Batiste+Dry+Shampoo.JPG" title="Batiste Dry Shampoo Blush" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The product that I was most excited to find this month, was the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush. I've been wanting to try this for a while, and am currently putting it through it's paces to see just how good it is and maybe do a little review (this poor dry shampoo has probably never worked so hard in it's life). The smell is quite nice, and I'm liking it so far.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwrkuI_G2wlOmCQrnnVqv3yrRgl7pbczic-d2ALcELGThvbpc8h6UUuVfefOC1CGumJlxojZJFqEi5hM5WYi9GNWY-dyVYPCKd2aUpFkbF53EBapirnkdUmbjoBZWshyCMK-x5evGdTs4/s1600/Lust+Have+It+-+June+-+Bloom+Glitter+Eyeliner+in+Starstruck.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="496" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwrkuI_G2wlOmCQrnnVqv3yrRgl7pbczic-d2ALcELGThvbpc8h6UUuVfefOC1CGumJlxojZJFqEi5hM5WYi9GNWY-dyVYPCKd2aUpFkbF53EBapirnkdUmbjoBZWshyCMK-x5evGdTs4/s640/Lust+Have+It+-+June+-+Bloom+Glitter+Eyeliner+in+Starstruck.JPG" title="Bloom Glitter Liquid Liner Star Struck" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I have to admit that I was a bit underwhelmed when I first spotted the Bloom Glitter Liquid Eyeliner in Star Struck. Glitter liners, especially multicoloured ones, make me think of 12 year olds at a school disco. I will say that I played with it a little, and was pleasantly surprised that I didn't hate it, or feel juvenile wearing it. It's not as insanely packed with glitter as it looks in the bottle and, if worn right, I think it would be nice for a crazy night out.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOULXQFyy_pd2mT5QPTFgnGT0IMI6g9wKU1NKc3rDCKkNATgWywaQ36f-Vy_zWEx3Pp5bH6P05HsRWYCbBAvO6vfxLmUqWUyqva6AmWLX2FgiI4iSp56BEyaztk4-tHdaLcdyKaAhoFV0/s1600/Lust+Have+It+-+June+-+LonVitalite+Masks.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOULXQFyy_pd2mT5QPTFgnGT0IMI6g9wKU1NKc3rDCKkNATgWywaQ36f-Vy_zWEx3Pp5bH6P05HsRWYCbBAvO6vfxLmUqWUyqva6AmWLX2FgiI4iSp56BEyaztk4-tHdaLcdyKaAhoFV0/s640/Lust+Have+It+-+June+-+LonVitalite+Masks.JPG" title="LonVitalite 24k Gold Mask" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Next up we have the LonVitalite Eye and Facial Masks. I'd never heard of this brand before, and the 24K gold sounds very luxurious, so I'm keen to try them out. They both claim to do lots of lovely things like improve circulation, even skin tone and promote skin regeneration, but I'm most interested in the facial mask, as it claims to have whitening agents. I have a bit of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from acne, which I would love to get rid of, so we'll see if I notice any difference.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJlWdwGayargsIUM0UO91csFHECIZ4IFI6-xxwaIVlZ8hCzrz4UgZEx7zlowKRdY1jKczFZJou6vsXE056AosHtwuIpgBjZy_OD6DgtdD5QvWPxsrE4-nDqMU9dR3TEojxKnLvGk1D_mE/s1600/Lust+Have+It+-+June+-+Daisy+and+Daisy+Eau+So+Fresh+Samples.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="514" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJlWdwGayargsIUM0UO91csFHECIZ4IFI6-xxwaIVlZ8hCzrz4UgZEx7zlowKRdY1jKczFZJou6vsXE056AosHtwuIpgBjZy_OD6DgtdD5QvWPxsrE4-nDqMU9dR3TEojxKnLvGk1D_mE/s640/Lust+Have+It+-+June+-+Daisy+and+Daisy+Eau+So+Fresh+Samples.JPG" title="Marc Jacobs Daisy and Daisy Eau So Fresh" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Lastly, we have some more perfume samples. I think there were a few options that subscribers could have received, and I got Daisy and Daisy Eau So Fresh, both by Marc Jacobs. Personally, I don't mind getting perfume samples, as I love perfumes and like being able to try them out at home without having to buy a bottle, but I can see how more perfume samples again this month might not make everyone as happy as I. I've never been a fan of Daisy, and this sample didn't really make me change my mind. I don't know why, because on paper it sounds like a perfect fragrance for me (being light, florally with fruity notes). Daisy Eau So Fresh, on the other hand, smells like heaven to me. I have seen it before, but never bothered to test it out, because I assumed it would be close to the original, so I am VERY happy that I got this to try. It is so fresh and crisp and summery that I just want to bathe in it. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Now for the numbers:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Batiste Dry Shampoo at $9.95/150ml = $3.32/30ml</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Bloom Glitter Eye Liner $14.95 each = $14.95</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">LonVitalite 24K Active Golden Yulan Oil Facial Mask at $59 for 5 = $11.80 each</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">LonVitalite 24K Active Gold Full Eye Mask at $45 for 5 = $9.00 each</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Daisy by Marc Jacobs at $90/50ml = $2.16/1.2ml</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs at $115/75ml <u> = $1.84/1.2ml</u></span></div>

That's kinda sad. Check out <a href="http://www.mymaneblog.com/" target="_blank">Nykki's Mane Blog</a> if you want to join in!</span><br />

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">1. When the fair comes to town, do you usually go?</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Sadly, no. We don't really have big fairs where I live, and the ones we do get are usually geared towards kids. A big one that I do go to every couple of years, is the Easter Show in Sydney.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">2. What is your favorite thing to eat at the fair? Food and/or dessert!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Snow cones. I looooove snow cones.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">3. Do you like to go on the rides? What are some of your favorite rides?</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Not usually, but my two favourites are the big slide that you ride down on a hessian sack, and the swing carousel thing.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">4. What are some cool shows or exhibits that happen at your local fair?</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I don't know that there is a local fair or show where I live :(. At the Easter Show, I love all of the animal exhibits, especially the baby ducks.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">5. Do you usually buy anything at the fair? What do you like to buy?</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">When I go to the Easter Show, I always get the Willy Wonka and Bertie Beetle show bags. I have eaten some of the yummiest and craziest lollies from the Willy Wonka bag that you don't usually find in stores. For those who haven't had the pleasure of eating a bertie beetle (I'm pretty sure they are Aussie), they are the most delicious beetle shaped chocolates with honeycomb and coconut bits. They are incredibly hard to find now. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I don't know why, but when it comes to nail polish, I never want to wear colours to suit the season. This past summer, I couldn't wait for cooler weather to wear OPI's William Tell Me About OPI (you can see a post on it <a href="http://the-glow-down.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/notd-william-tell-me-about-opi.html" target="_blank">here</a>). It's been cold for ages now, and I've worn it once. I know there are no rules to when you can and can't wear certain colours, but I would love to be one of those put together girls with the perfectly seasonally appropriate outfit and nail polish to match.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">So instead of dipping into my immense collection of gorgeous wintery colours. I went for OPI's Lucky Lucky Lavender.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Lucky Lucky Lavender is a stunning purple colour, that looks more lilac than lavender, from OPI's Hong Kong Collection from 2010. It's a creme finish polish, that is opaque in 2 to 3 coats. It can be very streaky, so I tend to go for 3 coats, to get a more flawless end result. Please excuse the minor chipping. I have actually been wearing this for a couple of days already without a top coat, and it's lasting power, as always, has been pretty darn good.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Yesterday was my Fiance and I's 7 year anniversary. I haven't really shared anything too personal on here yet, and thought now might be a good reason too. Let me start by telling you a little about our history. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">We went to the same high school from the start of Year 7, but didn't meet until we were both 16, at a mutual friends birthday. That night, I instantly had such a crush on him. In the months that followed, we talked a lot, and got to know each other. After some shameless flirting on my part, I plucked up the courage to tell him how I felt, which was enormous for me to even consider. So, one day at school, I managed to catch him while he was alone, and told him that I really liked him. His response... "Oh, okay". I was crushed! Not to mention humiliated. That night, after completely avoiding him out of shame, I found out through his good friend that he felt the same, but was too shy to tell me.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">It wasn't until at least a week or more later that said friend had managed to convince him to ask me out. Which he tried to, for 5 days, but was thwarted each time by interrupting friends and my disappearance from my usual lunch spot (I had no idea he was looking for me). By the time he had finally asked me out, so many people knew he was trying to, that we actually had an audience of people secretly watching, waiting to see if it would finally happen.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">So, we had a bit of a rocky start, but from there on out it has all been smooth sailing. He is my best friend and the love of my life all rolled into one. I've not met anyone else who gets me quite like he does, and who loves me so unconditionally. Every day I'm inspired by his compassion, kindness, determination and drive. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I can't even begin to convey how lucky I feel that my life has been touched by him. When he asked me to marry him, it was the single most amazing night of my life. I cannot wait to marry him, and all of the memories of our relationship that have been swimming around in my head this week just make me even more excited to spend the rest of my days with him. I love him with all of my heart.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">One of the memories I have been thinking about a lot this week was of our first real date. We went to a concert for a band that I loved and he hardly knew, and had the most amazing time. That was the night we had our first kiss, in among the crazy screaming crowd. Not the most romantic of settings, but it felt like time stopped. To this day I still remember that kiss as clear as day.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">So, as an homage to that amazing night and the start of our relationship seven years ago, I decided to recreate the eye look that I wore. Back then I wasn't nearly as into makeup as I am now, but I remember fretting about how I would do my make up for days leading up to it. I still remember the look I wore, and associate it so strongly with that night. The thing I remember most about the makeup was a dark teal/green pencil liner that I used under my eyes. The reason I remember it so well is because it was a major player in my makeup repertoire back then, and I always felt incredibly adventurous when I wore it. <span style="background-color: white;">I have a few photos from that night, none of which show my makeup too well, but from the look of it I also had a penchant for heavy black liner and a tonne of mascara.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Here is my recreation:</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSBoB1nm5jy4L2p7A1nGKDTAoRSDqb9xEYPe3nHL4mYpbBSKFYH5E2lSTQd8m_D3U9Y8zNihLZq3k0_8YbI1IAuKsHXU1wmWmESqCZYfxYx5UsWCwMEnBtnHgV7qsf9uYlozCqpcyhcQA/s1600/Green+Lower+Lash+line.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSBoB1nm5jy4L2p7A1nGKDTAoRSDqb9xEYPe3nHL4mYpbBSKFYH5E2lSTQd8m_D3U9Y8zNihLZq3k0_8YbI1IAuKsHXU1wmWmESqCZYfxYx5UsWCwMEnBtnHgV7qsf9uYlozCqpcyhcQA/s400/Green+Lower+Lash+line.JPG" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I don't think this makeup look is, or was, all too flattering for me and it makes me realise why I rarely use mascara on my lower lashes anymore (hello spiders legs). Still, it's fun to look back and reminisce about some of my best memories.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Does anyone else associate particular makeup looks and products with events in their lives?</span></div>Ellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00217722114254110217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8595025137145881489.post-16353690513968905122012-06-19T19:32:00.002+10:002012-06-19T19:32:58.025+10:00NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Review<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">It is not sheer. Nor does it glow. Poor naming decisions aside,
NARS Sheer Glow foundation is amazing. It pretty much been my daily foundation
since I finally took the plunge and bought it in the shade Deauville. This is a
big deal for a foundation addict, such as myself. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRbn6K9rDrDplxFvrOLeQS0ikA6gMbqiGLr2OTF8OC1xPTskr9qIioSWYoHPjFE_rLz2d0kqR6wnVRGPyInA8y2XyGE_IR2pLgEJnYm8dz7UxpMt8yGdLMH_4UbU_zlLEQnGfF-yc2AXs/s1600/NARS+Sheer+Glow1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="523" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRbn6K9rDrDplxFvrOLeQS0ikA6gMbqiGLr2OTF8OC1xPTskr9qIioSWYoHPjFE_rLz2d0kqR6wnVRGPyInA8y2XyGE_IR2pLgEJnYm8dz7UxpMt8yGdLMH_4UbU_zlLEQnGfF-yc2AXs/s640/NARS+Sheer+Glow1.JPG" title="NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Deauville Review" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">It’s gives light-medium, but buildable coverage, with an
incredibly natural finish. Once applied, it would be hard to tell that I’m
wearing foundation at all, were it not for the evened out skin tone and covered
blemishes. The name implies that the foundation gives a ‘glow’, which in
foundation terms usually means a dewy finish, or some sort of sheen. Sheer Glow
has neither, but it does give an overall effect of very healthy, smooth skin.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I get about 8 hours of wear time with
this, before it starts to become a little bit patchy and faded. On the oilier
parts of my face, it does start to move at around the 6 hour mark, but stays
put with blotting and/or a little powder. Without this extra step, once
oiliness occurs, the foundation becomes a little less than flattering, so I
wouldn’t recommend it for those with oily skin.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBl0GmSSYiFRuqBqlK7dDKNT6ktG7OwCkKEh-fkcOJGwbiIqUDnBdKeH8heXSjb2Jj8sNxgRyRKV6vtwnW72vtPkm-BwDbGxwne-eTp3oYUU09s3-DWs-_xXqAgDGu7OmqSrmwPMujfas/s1600/NARS+Sheer+Glow3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="572" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBl0GmSSYiFRuqBqlK7dDKNT6ktG7OwCkKEh-fkcOJGwbiIqUDnBdKeH8heXSjb2Jj8sNxgRyRKV6vtwnW72vtPkm-BwDbGxwne-eTp3oYUU09s3-DWs-_xXqAgDGu7OmqSrmwPMujfas/s640/NARS+Sheer+Glow3.JPG" title="NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Deauville Review" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">It is quite a pricey foundation, with an RRP of $42US for 30ml. The
only official stockist in Australia that I’m aware of is Mecca Cosmetica, where
it retails for $68, if you are interested in having it colour matched with your
skin tone. I bought mine from <a href="http://www.hqhair.com/" target="_blank">HQhair</a> for around <span style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;">£</span>29.50GBP plus £2.99
postage (about $50.25AU).<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRslkUCfdF3UANJhl-_i6uX9PqALst0A46HyApFIhL-0QZaSBlsZ-zIgfS0dMY4g_5crEuuKHJxttW1PCN85oqWI0sANOI4tn4s9GSVu2hOOWy-gavKMA-Bc6Roca3WKAByHnDXxqppYQ/s1600/NARS+Sheer+Glow2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="528" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRslkUCfdF3UANJhl-_i6uX9PqALst0A46HyApFIhL-0QZaSBlsZ-zIgfS0dMY4g_5crEuuKHJxttW1PCN85oqWI0sANOI4tn4s9GSVu2hOOWy-gavKMA-Bc6Roca3WKAByHnDXxqppYQ/s640/NARS+Sheer+Glow2.JPG" title="NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Deauville Review" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Aside from
the price, the only major downside is lack of pump. For the amount of money you
pay, it would be nice to get more than just a bottle that you unscrew and pour.
It leads to a whole lot of mess, and I find that the foundation tends to bleed
down the spiral on the screw cap and out the bottom of the lid. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">This month has been a very wanty month for me. I have seen so many products that I'd love to buy, which has made keeping on budget to save for the wedding very hard. But, no harm in ogling them and drooling over them! Here are the products I'm lusting after most this month:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">For the last month or so, I have been seeing these Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons from Face of Australia all over Twitter and Aussie beauty blogs. I love a lot of the Face of Australia products and these have been getting great reviews, so I couldn't wait for them to be released.<br /><br /></span></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVZc4oGHYY1NiRha7xoM8MkoJr8c-arX9g1aYzyPhUgjjAgI_cUkKDik7UQmcLPJbUW8J3521rF44Hxf1OOo4rWgk5ilHzSTvwSauisM3KaNFZTJMNssSvV2rpKBgeU4cK1E-PdgBWu_o/s1600/Face+of+Australia+Sheer+Gloss+Crayons1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVZc4oGHYY1NiRha7xoM8MkoJr8c-arX9g1aYzyPhUgjjAgI_cUkKDik7UQmcLPJbUW8J3521rF44Hxf1OOo4rWgk5ilHzSTvwSauisM3KaNFZTJMNssSvV2rpKBgeU4cK1E-PdgBWu_o/s640/Face+of+Australia+Sheer+Gloss+Crayons1.JPG" title="Face of Australia Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons" width="640" /></span></a><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Well, they hit the shops at the start of June and I was quick to get my grubbly little hands on them! <span style="text-align: justify;">They come in a pack of three crayons which costs a grand total of $14.95. Before they came out I had heard that the pack would cost this, and to be honest, I didn't really believe it. Face of Australia have very competitively and reasonably priced products, but I just thought that there was no way all three would be less than $15. I figured that maybe they would be sold separately for $14.95 each, so I was very pleasantly surprised to walk into Priceline and find that it indeed was the price for all three. To those of you reading from other countries (especially the US and UK) this price might not seem all that exciting, but when one Revlon Lip Butter costs $21.</span><span style="text-align: justify;">95AU (around $21.76US and <span style="background-color: white; line-height: 16px; text-align: -webkit-auto;">£</span>14.06GBP) or an OPI or Essie polish costs $20AU (around $19.82US and <span style="background-color: white; line-height: 16px; text-align: -webkit-auto;">£12.81GBP), to get three decent lip products for $15 is amazing value. Good on you, Face of Australia.<br /></span></span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />The packaging is simple colour matching plastic with a handy
wind up applicator, which means no sharpening! Woohoo! I don’t know about the
rest of you, but any time I have to sharpen one of my pencil products, I break
them. This actually applies to normal lead pencils too, so I love love love that
these are wind up. The packaging itself doesn’t appear to be incredibly sturdy
(although I’ve had no issues with them breaking), and the length of the
packaging makes them slightly less handbag friendly than your average lippy,
but neither of these things big is any real downfall in my opinion.<br /><br /><o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The colours last fairly well for how sheer and glossy the crayons are, however, regular reapplication is needed to maintain the colour and finish. I
was able to get around 2 hours wear with all three, before I felt the
need to reapply (and I am a lip licker).
When I let the colours go for even longer, they simply faded off, without becoming dry or patchy.<br /><br /></span></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">When I first saw the ads for the new ModelCo Fibre Lash Mascara, I was intrigued by the concept. It's a two part formula applied in three steps that claims to give the effect of false lashes without the need for all the fussing. Probably the most exciting and unusual part of this product is the use of little fibres, intended to add volume and length to the lashes. When I saw that May's CLEO magazine came with this mascara, I couldn't help but pick it up!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipyZsb-TjuZW52t_Yo5cMDOD5SA5FcyQIlDgHRjWmdm1sGsTwUGGmXXTCoIPeP3uIniwBzLI-L3dpU5t_vL3npJecxNqq4Cey_LfGXBcpt_XMLeMDov9lXANtQQ4MME6Lov1mV8jJoAQk/s1600/ModelCo+FibreLash+Mascara+(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipyZsb-TjuZW52t_Yo5cMDOD5SA5FcyQIlDgHRjWmdm1sGsTwUGGmXXTCoIPeP3uIniwBzLI-L3dpU5t_vL3npJecxNqq4Cey_LfGXBcpt_XMLeMDov9lXANtQQ4MME6Lov1mV8jJoAQk/s640/ModelCo+FibreLash+Mascara+(3).JPG" title="ModelCo Fibrelash Mascara" width="640" /></span></a><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The version I received with CLEO came in double ended, black, plastic packaging. From what I can gather, the actual one that you can purchase comes in a two separate shiny mascara tubes. Much prettier but slightly less convenient.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsbbvvcGVZMbOtHPypXK6WYXvRDGAqnDAiTaBRU1GDd1AhMhTyk-P_G9s1Qwow9xFegJhtTMTFXG8X4wEv56zZzgVngt3tPCtvXhVfWCCVSk7WDtfVgY14U3ULmkeasw4RRQLQWiSrMbQ/s1600/ModelCo+FibreLash+Mascara+-+Extension+Mascara.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsbbvvcGVZMbOtHPypXK6WYXvRDGAqnDAiTaBRU1GDd1AhMhTyk-P_G9s1Qwow9xFegJhtTMTFXG8X4wEv56zZzgVngt3tPCtvXhVfWCCVSk7WDtfVgY14U3ULmkeasw4RRQLQWiSrMbQ/s640/ModelCo+FibreLash+Mascara+-+Extension+Mascara.JPG" title="ModelCo Fibre Lash Mascara" width="640" /></a><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">On one end is the Extension Mascara. The brush is quite a large, old fashioned, wire and bristle brush. Some might be a bit unenthusiastic about this brush, but I love a good wire and bristle brush. I find they work best on my lashes to separate and curl.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEionYoH1GUPS0Tz4PYUjQUKCJMTTavF_41IoVuHVeJpyiHoBbG0SAcvPcA-Jfxs52N1AZe1JPFiLLE2uKoFFt033jKe_x4tYiWndMpd3HWck9J65I-_k5SbAVUG15oYGmJN502M5fpR3UU/s640/ModelCo+FibreLash+Mascara+-+Lash+Fibres.JPG" title="ModelCo Fibre Lash Mascara Lash Fibres" width="640" /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">On the other end is the much more exciting Lash Fibres brush. A long, thin, bristle brush used to apply the little lash fibres.</span></div>

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Step 1: Apply a coat of the Extension Mascara. This step will ensure that the fibres stick to the lashes.</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaH0z0XGItAKX2TK5EFgzh_HJ0DGd-2tTH-OVCBZJOojKdRRyA3PNgqU1AZmMPwP_UU8C6ha3CQukYgRV_hgV6yCBp9DM93HhhjdGBZon1cb0GFcVmd5BDfvPiTRJUWSDS6IH3XU8xjZI/s1600/ModelCo+Fibrelash+Mascara+-+Coat+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="490" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaH0z0XGItAKX2TK5EFgzh_HJ0DGd-2tTH-OVCBZJOojKdRRyA3PNgqU1AZmMPwP_UU8C6ha3CQukYgRV_hgV6yCBp9DM93HhhjdGBZon1cb0GFcVmd5BDfvPiTRJUWSDS6IH3XU8xjZI/s640/ModelCo+Fibrelash+Mascara+-+Coat+2.JPG" title="ModelCo Fibre Lash Mascara Lash Fibres - Step 2" width="640" /></span></a><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Step 2: Apply a coat of the Lash Fibres. If you are after a lot of volume, I would suggest concentrating a lot of fibres on the mid-lengths of your lashes. If you are after length, then concentrate the fibres on the ends. If, by chance, you are after both volume and length, go crazy and absolutely cover your lashes with the fibres, as I have done in the picture above.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="536" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4WIamcc4me0XaYd74UydXhpTxGLEnVCfCUMH0T5w0TLcOjd6DK7gKUAJ20i3meuTLhLFBAE4_gKZy3MxIEyyGzgi0qIohxgnmyIe13Ayo5ZRPZQvYj9_vqkfhxyQnKObFAvRaw47oG10/s640/ModelCo+Fibrelash+Mascara+-+Coat+3(2).JPG" title="ModelCo Fibre Lash Mascara results" width="640" /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Step 3: Apply a final coat of the Extension Mascara. This coat should cover the fibres, align them with the natural lashes and pull them up and out, creating extra length. I was surprised at how easily the fibres were covered. Now, how about a comparison:</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqOazm0tZyO9kMOH3w_pnWUwSCfGZwNKU_S0OS4Rd1GERwfn8rzlo8zuxus9MMIhxyBNdqEP0sn8mc9bn2yrN0bnRYs1WA8i7F0G_rRQ7vj4tfqNbst8LMICQLzCVGEILNpK8qamblHBQ/s1600/ModelCo+Fibrelash+Mascara+-+Side+by+Side+Final.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img alt="" border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqOazm0tZyO9kMOH3w_pnWUwSCfGZwNKU_S0OS4Rd1GERwfn8rzlo8zuxus9MMIhxyBNdqEP0sn8mc9bn2yrN0bnRYs1WA8i7F0G_rRQ7vj4tfqNbst8LMICQLzCVGEILNpK8qamblHBQ/s640/ModelCo+Fibrelash+Mascara+-+Side+by+Side+Final.jpg" title="ModelCo Fibre Lash Mascara results" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The picture above on the left, is of my natural lashes. The one on the right is of my lashes after the above three steps. As you can see from the above picture, the lengthening capabilities of this mascara are pretty good. I would say good enough to rival many of the lengthening mascaras I have tried. It does pretty well to add body to the lashes too, however, I definitely wouldn't say that it meets it's claims of giving the look of false lashes.</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">There are also a few small things I didn't like about this mascara. The main one is the price. At $48AU it's incredibly expensive. I doubt I will be purchasing this one when my free on runs out. After a couple of uses, I also noticed that the fibres infiltrated the mascara, resulting in clumping and a somewhat messy finish.</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Overall, I think this is a decent mascara that would be great for anyone after a product that works to lengthen lashes without the need for false lashes. For me, it doesn't quite do enough to make me willing to pay such a hefty price.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">This weeks Question Wednesday questions from <a href="http://www.mymaneblog.com/" target="_blank">Nykki's Mane Blog</a> are all about girly stuff! If you haven't already, jump on over her blog to get the questions and add your link. I love reading all the other bloggers answers and finding out more about them, and can't wait to read their answers to this weeks!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQUeJfezj6tb85bE4sPx-MLPY8m20QJKbpVIVf53navp826j9BFRKo2HEOqzVFkK_OvhSBN2hJSsXfxJS_H8rwjcWE3_MR224cEIGTogqGI7UzXG9eGlNrhevqwCtCxU5Ll_tVFtH4WB_2/s1600/qwd.png" /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">1) What is your favourite girly hobby/interest?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Definitely make-up. It's one of the only really girly things that I do.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">2) Who is, in your opinion, a great example of a 21st century female role model?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I'm going to say Kate Winslet. For her honesty, humility, talent and humanity. From what I know of her, she seems incredibly humble and hardworking despite her insane success, and doesn't claim to be perfect in the public eye. I feel that the best role models aren't the ones who seem flawless, but those who are honest and real, and who show us how to maintain our identity and values despite the flaws and mistakes we all encounter.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">3) What are your top 3 fave chick flicks?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">First would definitely be Mean Girls. It is easily my most watched movie of all time and I can pretty much quote the whole thing. Easy A comes second, and is another chick flick that I find easy to watch. It has a kind of twisted and weird humour, which suits me well. Third would have to be Bridesmaids. Not strictly a chick flick, but I'm claiming it. It's so hilarious I cried from laughing so hard in parts.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">4) We're having a sleepover! What snacks will you bring and what music will you play?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I always brought the cheese and onion flavoured Smiths chips to sleepovers as a teenager. It was an institution among my friends and myself. I'd probably also bring a whole stash of chocolate and lollies. I have very random and eclectic taste in music, so I'd be that annoying person putting on songs that no one else likes. It would probably be a mix of the Stereophonics, Elvis Costello and Eliza Doolittle (the british singer, not the My Fair Lady character).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">5) What is the girliest item that you own?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Other than my makeup collection, probably this pink plastic headband with a pink plastic flower on the side. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I bought it a few months ago and have never worn it outside the house, because it's just not me. I was never bothered enough to take it back though.</span></div>Ellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00217722114254110217noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8595025137145881489.post-72894265990999112892012-06-03T16:29:00.000+10:002012-06-03T16:29:21.179+10:00Cetaphil Moisturising Cream Review<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">If you've read any of my recent posts, you may be aware that my skin has been turning very dry as the cold weather moves in (I really have been harping on about it). It is common for my usually combination/oily skin to become less oily in Winter, but this year it has completely dried out. With the sudden change, my summer skincare routine didn't include a rich enough moisturiser. After some research, I decided to give the Cetaphil Moisturising Cream a try.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5V-BG3criQbWH58MwXuTdxGTLEYvQC1ZIm0haSvU-v9nWVbHfp6QKwMArJD9s_ozr8ASEzjJAxARAsLAPWADzrnnktGl3-k16-BwNuaMs8-dLKssaPpaAayzcFqORawVix9QvGaETK3s/s1600/IMG_1605.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="592" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5V-BG3criQbWH58MwXuTdxGTLEYvQC1ZIm0haSvU-v9nWVbHfp6QKwMArJD9s_ozr8ASEzjJAxARAsLAPWADzrnnktGl3-k16-BwNuaMs8-dLKssaPpaAayzcFqORawVix9QvGaETK3s/s640/IMG_1605.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The packaging claims to be recommended by dermatologists for those with dry and/or sensitive skin, and states that "<i>a formulation of emollients and humectants bind water to the skin, softening whilst preventing moisture loss</i>".</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj54EbzqILqBkLsB9D-W9Loi0JDhpItXv3IyFgRw7PRk6KITHJ1j54t9rwOotfoSPhAAM5EOwq5FYUsIBEeoi-dbQdVO8SA969CLwa75WICsBK_6FMy8MauXCW79DA0WYPArHU9N7BoLnw/s1600/IMG_1601.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj54EbzqILqBkLsB9D-W9Loi0JDhpItXv3IyFgRw7PRk6KITHJ1j54t9rwOotfoSPhAAM5EOwq5FYUsIBEeoi-dbQdVO8SA969CLwa75WICsBK_6FMy8MauXCW79DA0WYPArHU9N7BoLnw/s640/IMG_1601.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The cream has an incredibly thick formulation, but it blends smoothly into the skin and absorbs easily. It also never leaves any greasiness. After a few weeks of using it twice a day on my face and body, I can honestly say that I love it. My skin is no longer dry, I have no flaking, and the overall texture of my skin has improved ten-fold. The price is reasonable too, with the 550g tub costing me around $18.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The only downside to this moisturiser is the packaging. The 250g and 550g sizes both come in a tub, which is not the most hygienic of packaging.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">One last thing, I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone with oilier skin, as it is incredibly rich. Cetaphil does do a Moisturising Lotion, that I believe is more geared towards normal to oily skin types. The Australian Cetaphil website has a nifty chart to help you figure out which of their products are best suited to your skin type, which you can check out <a href="http://www.cetaphil.com.au/SkincareGuide.aspx" target="_blank">here</a>.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">Overall Score: </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: x-large;">8</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">/10</span></div>Ellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00217722114254110217noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8595025137145881489.post-9793087380405973392012-06-02T15:17:00.001+10:002012-06-02T15:17:36.318+10:00May Favourites!<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">This is my very first monthly favourites post, which is kind of exciting. I was hesitant to do one (last month and this month), because my favourite products tend to stay the same and I can be a bit of a creature of habit. This month, however, I have been using some new products, or have fallen back in love with some old loves, so I thought I would share them with you. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKN1FW6paFT9Gj7zczX42gBVkO5UqjtxeZBncVfCeh8dsljv4s3b9s016zsUwQwEwenRhT78tU2umwzRTiPLaTPMZpOvpGO7tcZk2MfHVMweENaEAlsUYCxvfUgXdJcn4eHWfvN6cSJ7A/s1600/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+Collective.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="528" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKN1FW6paFT9Gj7zczX42gBVkO5UqjtxeZBncVfCeh8dsljv4s3b9s016zsUwQwEwenRhT78tU2umwzRTiPLaTPMZpOvpGO7tcZk2MfHVMweENaEAlsUYCxvfUgXdJcn4eHWfvN6cSJ7A/s640/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+Collective.JPG" width="640" /></span></a></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6nfnfShHYo3bl2QQupNkZqClsulyhsRYFLL1Az6uW03d0ThfxvXYvErq6P5iHwj698cHYCuyTZ9T1j6179EGnclx_cabUBKIB4FUIjeYjP0YuLdQaHldmbvJxonwOtqZ0UQNV5Tes4SU/s1600/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+Cetaphil+Moisturising+Cream.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6nfnfShHYo3bl2QQupNkZqClsulyhsRYFLL1Az6uW03d0ThfxvXYvErq6P5iHwj698cHYCuyTZ9T1j6179EGnclx_cabUBKIB4FUIjeYjP0YuLdQaHldmbvJxonwOtqZ0UQNV5Tes4SU/s400/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+Cetaphil+Moisturising+Cream.JPG" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">My first favourite is the Cetaphil Moisturising Cream. I bought this recently because my skin was becoming very dry with the cold weather, and my usual moisturising routine for when my skin is oilier just wasn't giving me the moisture I needed. I'd heard good things about the Cetaphil range, so I got the enormous 550g tub for around $18, and it doesn't disappoint. I will be doing a full review on this soon, so stay tuned.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXI0N_afeEwKPgfxEyuOGOM21voH63XUuunI-HrDo8qTROBSQHPxZKC-qDSn0s2m-nLwtVT0cuUNnzgLB_wfDzayoz7VKiUNbQQnGdONMkzlWtvlYphhNJbWakeoK9njWN7CEHSFZtq2Y/s1600/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+Nars+Sheer+Glow.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="340" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXI0N_afeEwKPgfxEyuOGOM21voH63XUuunI-HrDo8qTROBSQHPxZKC-qDSn0s2m-nLwtVT0cuUNnzgLB_wfDzayoz7VKiUNbQQnGdONMkzlWtvlYphhNJbWakeoK9njWN7CEHSFZtq2Y/s400/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+Nars+Sheer+Glow.JPG" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Next is my NARS Sheer Glow foundation in Deauville. Again, because my skin was becoming drier, I wanted to use something less matte than what I had been. This foundation is so lovely, and leaves a really natural finish, even when I build it up for fuller coverage on my bad skin days. It also stays put very well.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqK3c-6vzuyyh7m1zR4qEDvQI1NqMCB5ZlGV5rnJj73eKPfz8NyNAQZXlRuJ4qqRGxVEc7e4RE8S77a8gNEq958dmeMbLH4_ACyqBOq5tMMHPk3iv7Lgsp5GzycWUhBTWZcM4d7QAEipc/s1600/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+MAC+Hue.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqK3c-6vzuyyh7m1zR4qEDvQI1NqMCB5ZlGV5rnJj73eKPfz8NyNAQZXlRuJ4qqRGxVEc7e4RE8S77a8gNEq958dmeMbLH4_ACyqBOq5tMMHPk3iv7Lgsp5GzycWUhBTWZcM4d7QAEipc/s400/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+MAC+Hue.JPG" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I've been wearing MAC lipstick in Hue at least two or three times a week since I won it in Lauren from <a href="http://bylaurenjane.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">By Lauren Jane</a>'s giveaway (you can see my post on the giveaway <a href="http://the-glow-down.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/i-actually-won-something.html" target="_blank">here</a>). This is a pretty big deal, as I don't usually wear a lot of lip products.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCqvByuQa0zu1xsw-w503T3gYeYDmBrO6eyYmz5obCz5ahyortsh9AHTTzmR-S-1wcVW6W_f5uppaf18sOBaGkdKYPuTahduBE4_s4qPUj6nfPM2M3sVb7jyRbXQoPriRpoAKLIIXPZNk/s1600/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+Revlon+Colorburst+Lip+Butter+Macaroon.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="333" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCqvByuQa0zu1xsw-w503T3gYeYDmBrO6eyYmz5obCz5ahyortsh9AHTTzmR-S-1wcVW6W_f5uppaf18sOBaGkdKYPuTahduBE4_s4qPUj6nfPM2M3sVb7jyRbXQoPriRpoAKLIIXPZNk/s400/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+Revlon+Colorburst+Lip+Butter+Macaroon.JPG" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Another lip product that I have been wearing a lot this month is the Revlon Lip Butter in Macaroon. This was from another giveaway I won from Claire at <a href="http://youlittlebeautyblog.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">You Little Beauty</a> (check out my post <a href="http://the-glow-down.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/i-won-you-little-beautys-giveaway.html" target="_blank">here</a>). It's a cool toned raspberry shade with a subtle shimmer, which isn't too overwhelming for everyday wear.</span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I've been using Moroccan Oil for nearly 12 months now, and sort of felt like it wasn't doing too much for me anymore. I decided to give my hair a bit of a break from it last month and started using it again this month and am glad I did. Having a break meant that my hair was less resistant to it and I was seeing the results that I experienced when I first started using it. There's a reason this is such a cult product in the beauty world. </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWnNl-kfEF__FyOQlER4Zz3Mkl87AyyxsmbhjS5aRgGtwIBoV2JonaaZA_Hns-nWe36b9kbHrG3iUpzuCAwMCLtqC_qUUMLMoFOa5zsCt45rCJzunDaI5y03Pdo2kPYZg3aRJLvhkcJEg/s1600/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+OPI+William+Tell+Me+About+OPI.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWnNl-kfEF__FyOQlER4Zz3Mkl87AyyxsmbhjS5aRgGtwIBoV2JonaaZA_Hns-nWe36b9kbHrG3iUpzuCAwMCLtqC_qUUMLMoFOa5zsCt45rCJzunDaI5y03Pdo2kPYZg3aRJLvhkcJEg/s400/May+2012+Monthly+Favourites+-+OPI+William+Tell+Me+About+OPI.JPG" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">My favourite this month for nails has been OPI's William Tell Me About OPI. I can't really go past it for a cold weather color. It's such an interesting colour too, which I love.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Last but not least isn't technically a beauty product, but is something I have been using non-stop this month (and may possibly be improving my health and appearance indirectly). It's The Aromatherapy Co. Sleep Pulse Point concoction that I received in the April GlossyBox. I don't really have any difficulty falling asleep and wasn't 100% convinced of the powers of essential oils in helping me sleep, but decided to try this out for a while anyway to see if it did anything. I was quite surprised to find that whenever I used it, I would have the most deep and uninterrupted sleep. Without it I would wake up multiple times during the night, but using this, I will wake up maybe once. I didn't think anything of waking up in the middle of the night before, but since using this I have felt so much better rested. I can't explain how much better I feel during the day. Now I'm considering buying the Stress one to try, to see if it helps with the little bit of seasonal anxiety I get during the colder months. </span></div>Ellenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00217722114254110217noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8595025137145881489.post-3202945461462909302012-05-30T21:11:00.001+10:002012-05-30T21:12:52.782+10:00Question Wednesday: Changing Seasons<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="color: #666666; line-height: 17px;">Once again, Hump Day is upon us. Doesn't the week go by so fast! Wednesday means it's time for Nykki from <a href="http://www.mymaneblog.com/" target="_blank">Nykki's Mane Blog</a>'s Question Wednesday. This weeks questions are all about the seasons.</span></span></div>

<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.917969); text-align: -webkit-auto;">1. What is your favorite season? What colors, scents, tastes, sounds do you associate with it?</span></div>
</span><span style="background-color: white; text-align: left;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;"><br /></span></div>
</span></span><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 17px; text-align: left;">Definitely Spring. It's not too hot and not too cold. I definitely associate it with bright colours and pastels and the smell of jasmine at night. I'm a fiend for the smell of night blooming jasmine.</span></div>

What are your favorite and least favorite parts of each season?</span></span></span></div>

</span><span style="background-color: white; text-align: left;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;"><br /></span></div>
</span></span><br />
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 17px; text-align: left;">In Winter I love curling up under a warm blanket, but I'm not a fan of the freezing cold mornings. In Spring, I love the smells and temperature and feeling in the air, but I'm not a fan of the mosquitoes that start breeding and head straight for my house. In Summer I love all the sunshine and swimming, but don't like the (inevitable) sunburn. In Autumn I love the cooling weather but not the months of torrential rain.</span></div>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"></span><br />

Do you have any seasonal disorders (SAD, allergies, the fall dread of school starting up or celebration of same...)?</span></span></span></div>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 17px; text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 17px; text-align: left;">I don't think so. I tend to experience some anxiety in the cooler months that I don't really get when it's warm.</span></div>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="color: #666666; line-height: 17px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 17px; text-align: left;"></span></span><br />

How do you change your beauty routine as the seasons change? Do you use different products, or just different colors? (Or less makeup during one season, or more during another?)</span></span></span></div>
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 17px; text-align: left;">
</span><span style="background-color: white; text-align: left;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;"><br /></span></div>
</span></span><br />
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 17px; text-align: left;">My skin changes drastically between the warm and cooler months, so I change up my routine mostly because of that. When it's warm, my skin is combination/oily, and in Winter it is very dry, so my skincare is a bit lighter on moisturising in Summer. I also change founation, preferring a matte and lighter one in Summer and a medium to full coverage one with a natural finish in winter. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 17px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.917969); color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 17px;">5. Share your favorite winter or summer recipe! A salad, a sandwich, a dessert, a drink...anything.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 17px;"><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 17px;">For Winter, I will share my incredibly easy recipe for the yummiest pumpkin soup ever (well I think is is anyway). I am yet to meet a person who doesn't like this soup, including my fiance who doesn't like other pumpkin soups. You will need:</span></div>
<span style="color: #666666;"><br /></span><br />
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">1 kg of pumpkin - I like to use butternut pumpkin, which I think is called butternut squash elsewhere, for the flavour</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">1/2 kg of potatoes</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">150 grams of shortcut bacon</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">1 brown onion</span></li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Chicken stock</span></li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Then, you just peel and chop the pumpkin and potatoes into chunks, and set them aside. Then dice the onion and bacon, and saute them over high heat in a big pot with some olive oil, until the onion starts to soften. Add the pumpkin and potato and stir through. Add enough chicken stock to just cover the pots contents and bring to the boil. Turn it down to a simmer and cook until the potato and pumpkin mash easily with a fork. Then blend the whole thing up until smooth. If it's too thick, just add some more chicken stock at this point. And that's it!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">For Summer, I will share my favourite salad dressing. It's light and fresh and goes amazingly with any salad with pear or avocado in it. To make it, all you have to do is combine 4 tablespoons of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, some salt and pepper. These measurements are just approximate, because I usually don't measure anything and make it by taste, so feel free to add more or less of anything to make it suit your taste.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I can't wait to see everyone's answers (in particular question 5)!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Some of you probably saw the post I did a week ago about what I won in By Lauren Jane's giveaway. Well, that was actually the second giveaway I had won. Can you believe it? I can't.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The first giveaway I won was from the beautiful Claire From <a href="http://youlittlebeautyblog.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">You Little Beauty</a>. I would like to say a big thank you to Claire for hosting such a generous giveaway. Please go and check her blog out, it is a wonderful read and she is a great gal.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">The prize arrived this week and it has some amazing and very exciting things, especially because most of them aren't readily available here. Have a look below.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">From left to right:</span></div>
<br />
<div>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Macaroon - This was probably the product I was most excited for. I have been eyeing off the Revlon Lip Butters for ages and Macaroon was the shade I loved the look of most.
